Just wanted to update you all on a few things. We had to replace the computer tower this week, but praise the Lord! We were able to get all of our information off of our other one, so we didn't lose anything! I was so grateful. Even though it was a bit expensive, it could have been so much worse.
God is gracious!
Nathan started playing soccer for Upwards last week in Rocky Mount. It is a bit of a drive (40min for us), but it is so worth it. They are so cute playing out there! All of the boys on Nathan's team were 4 or 5 yrs. old. There is a little airport that's nearby and everytime a plane flew overhead, they all stopped playing to look and point. His first game is this Saturday. He has practice each Monday night and games each Saturday morning. The other nice thing is that Michael is the coach of his team. One of the great things about Upwards is how much the bring the Word into it. They have Scripture to memorize each week, and they learn different godly character traits to practice. What a ministry opportunity! I've been designated the "team mom", whatever that is...but I'm already seeing ministry opportunities within the other moms. One of them sat down next to me at last weeks practice and pulled out her coupon organizer along with her CVS flier. A woman after my own heart!(For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, jump over to moneysavingmom.com for some great tips!) We instantly had a great opportunity to talk. Please pray that we would be open to sharing Christ with whomever we come in contact with over these next few weeks.
Samuel started full on potty training last week. He has done great! A few accidents of course, but overall he has done so well. He used to potty all day at church and even when we went out to eat afterwards!(strange thing to get excited about I know, but hey, what can I say? I'm a mom!)
We also started officially homeschooling last week. We are just doing about 3 days a week of pre-K stuff, but I love it! Nathan is doing really well, and Samuel is learning right along with him (in between getting up and down a million times of course)!
Over all, this seems to be a very busy time for our family, which is taking some adjusting. But we also know that it is just for a season, and we're just taking one day at a time!

Well, that was an eternally long blog post, but it's been quite a while since I've given a good update! Hope to talk to many of you soon!

The mighty hand of God

we've had an interesting couple of weeks! Michael and I were very blessed to get away by ourselves for a few days while his parents watched the boys. This was such a time of refreshing for us,much needed! However,while we were gone on Sat.,there was a storm that passed through and lighting struck our big oak tree out back. We lost a TV and possibly our computer tower. Michael has his old beat-up laptop, so since the screen is still working, he was able to hook it up to the computer so we can at least have internet access! We are not sure if we can save anything off of our computer or not,so please pray that God would have his way!

Potty training rocks!

I can't believe that of all the hardwood floors in this house, Samuel chose the white bedspread in the office/guest room to have a poopy accident. What can I say? Potty training rocks!

WV trip-picture overload!!!!!

We had a great and quick trip to WV this past weekend. Here are some pictures of us and our family. The boys and their cousin Reagan got to go to a train station and take a 1 1/2 ride through part of WV. What a special treat from Momaw and Popaw! The train station was very old. It only sends out 3 trains a week-Sunday, Wed, and Fridays. The boys had so much fun!




The next day we got to go see my parents and grandparents. My brother also came down to visit. Unfortunately, his wife and little boy were sick, so we missed seeing them! But he was able to ride down on his motorcycle which of course thrilled the boys, especially Samuel, who seems to have an obsession with them. He had fun going for a ride!


We came back Sunday night just in time for the first night of Awanas. Nathan is starting his 2nd year of Cubbies and Samuel is in his first year of Puggles. They are so cute! I am one proud mama!

Life with the Lillys

Life here in the Lilly house can be pretty interesting at times. There is never a dull moment with our boys around. Though things can be pretty crazy sometimes, at least we are never bored! Here are a few pictures of our life the last couple of weeks. Nathan loves to help me cook, so here he is baking banana bread...and of course tasting the batter!
The other day, Nathan said he really wanted to do something fun. Being the frugal mom that I am, I told him that we could go on an adventure in the woods. Boy was he excited! Nathan is such an outdoorsman(after his daddy's own heart), that I am convinced that if we threw him out in the middle of the woods, he would easily survive. I think we have a budding Bear Grylls(Man vs. Wild) in our midst. We had the best time and the weather was perfect! Then, later in the morning we stayed down by the pond and read some books. Nathan asked if we could sleep down there. I think he would have but Samuel was much too energetic for that!
While we were out, I found a spider spinning its web. While spiders are not my favorite thing to be around(actually the farther away they are the better), I found myself fascinated. It was a huge web and such a small spider, but bit by bit it was making this beautiful thing. What a mighty Creator we have, and what all goes on around us without us even knowing! Sometimes we just have to stop and look.
