It's been a great harvest

Well, our wonderful garden is coming to an end. We are still getting a few tomatoes, squash, and eggplant, but things are definitely slowing down. These pictures were taken a few weeks ago when everything was at its peak. Michael's mom taught me to can this summer, and I've been going to town! I love it, and hopefully it will provide lots of yummy food during the off season. I have canned tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, vegetable soup, salsa, made 3 different kinds of pickles, and lately I've done apple butter and applesauce! We'll see how long it will last. Hopefully for a while! I'm trying to save the seeds from most of our stuff so we'll already have it for next year. Even the marigolds! I love this country life, and am very grateful for it! And by the way, we still have a jungle of cherry tomatoes. Anybody want some?

Summer Vacation

We've been very busy these last few weeks! I wanted to share some pictures with you from our vacation. We were at North Myrtle Beach from Aug.14th-22nd, and boy did we have fun! The boys had a blast in the pool, at the beach, playing put-put, and spending time with Mimi and Pap-Pap! Daddy got to relax a little bit and fish and I had fun just watching the boys play! Mimi and I got to do a little shopping(mostly just window shopping!), and Pap-Pap's favorite part was just being the photographer. It came to an end all too quickly (as all vacations do) and now we're back to school, soccer, and everyday life. Thank you Lord for a wonderful break!

I have so many pictures and posts to share of our garden, Uncle Marc's visit, and our everyday life, but the housework and homeschool planning are calling me very loudly! But no worries, new posts are coming soon!!!!

A Day of Swimming

He is our Sustainer

Many of you know that the Lord has seen fit to take our little one home to be with Him. While we don't understand completely the reason for His decision, we can rest in the fact that He knew this baby before he/she was knitted together in my womb, and that his/her days were numbered by the Lord. The Lord is full of grace and mercy, and I am so grateful that we can trust in a Savior whose thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways higher than our ways. He is a mighty and loving God. We know that we will see all of our babies again one day! He gives and He takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

A few weeks ago when Michael's parents came down, we got to take the boys to an air show here in Louisburg. They had a blast looking at all of the different airplanes and helicopters. We also got to see some parachuters ( is that a word? ) which was a lot of fun. A perfect day for little boys!
