skipping February,on to March!

For those of you that read this blog, you know I'm terrible about updating on a regular basis. But, I'm hoping you'll be forgiving and enjoy these pictures!

We are so thankful for the sunshine, and can't seem to get enough. We've gone to nearby parks and hiking trails and had great times burning off some energy! Seems now we can finally stretch our legs after a long winter's nap. Springtime, here we come!

This was one of the boys favorite parts

These pictures capture the beauty of our Lord.

but the most exciting part of this month has been the boy's new bunk beds. God is so gracious in his provision!

January Happenings

January has definitely been a busy month around here! We have done a lot of catching up and started some new things. Here is just a taste of what's been going on.
Michael celebrated his milestone 30th birthday on Jan.7th. We went with some friends to Buffalo Bros. for some good wings, and then just had some sweet fellowship together.

Homeschool has come back around in full swing the last half of the month. Between mommy working and being sick, it had a later start than I had hoped. Now we're making up for lost time! Nathan is doing unbelievably well in his reading, already halfway through the first grade portion in his Hooked On Phonics! Handwriting we're having to work on quite a bit, but it's coming around. Samuel usually does puzzles or colors while I'm working with Nathan, and then when Nathan is doing some seatwork, I can work with Samuel on his numbers, letters, etc. I have definitely learned to be flexible, and am still learning! I know we have a long way to go, but overall I think we are all enjoying it.

This was one day when I expected to go into their room and remind them that they were supposed to be making their beds. I "caught" Nathan reading to Samuel. I thought my heart would melt!

The snow that we got over the weekend was absolutely gorgeous! And you know the boys were right out in it as soon as they could. Took 30 min. to get them dressed, and Samuel was back in in about 15. Oh well, all about the experience right?

There is lots more to share. Nathan started in Upward basketball at our church this month, and we've got some fun homeschool things coming up. So I know I'll be back to share soon!

Catching Up

Boy,it's been a while since I've posted anything. It's been in the back of my mind for a while, but I kept thinking about other things that needed done. So I've got some catching up to do. Here are some pictures of Nathan's birthday. Instead of having a party this year, he got to choose one friend and have a whole day of fun. His friend Ryan spent the night with us the night before. Then the boys got to play some the next morning before going to a yummy lunch of Chinese food. Then on to Frankie's Fun House, where Nathan got to play laser tag for the first time. He came out sweaty and happy as a clam. They had so much fun running around playing game after game. Then back to our house for dinner and cake. We were all exhausted by the end of the day, but it was definitely a day to remember.
I can't believe he's six. I've seen him change so much in this last year, he's definitely growing up. We're having deeper conversations now, and he's reasoning through situations. He's learning more about the Lord, his heart is so sensitive towards correction, and it's exciting to see him reaching out to other children and make them feel part of whatever he's doing. I have loved watching him grow and change, and I pray God will grant us many more years of that!

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY NATHAN!

Happy 6th Birthday to my sweet Nathan, who on this day 6yrs. ago, came screaming into this world at 2:14pm, weighing in at 7lbs.7oz. I couldn't imagine not seeing your sweet face every day. You are such a good big brother, and I'm grateful Samuel has such a good example to look up to. You are so tenderhearted and caring. I know that whatever God has in store for you, that you will do it with passion and genuine love for people. We are truly blessed beyond measure to have you in our lives. It has been a joy to watch you grow up these past 6 yrs, to watch the relationships you have with people grow. You have a smile that lights up the room, and bring a smile to everyone's face that's around you. You are growing up so fast!, but each stage you've been through has been wonderful. You are learning so much, and are so smart. It's been fun watching you change and grow! We love you so much, and could not imagine life without you!
